This April's week (04/09/2010), strong and vivid colors were prohibited among the celebrity style, with the stars opting for an only monochrome theme.

In New York Olivia Palermo came in white at the premiere of Paper Man. She prefered a Topshop skirt, shoes and necklace and carrying a Mulberry Alexa clutch.

Sarah Jessica Parker beauty secrets

Sarah Jessica Parker features: soft eyes and larger than life hair.

Sarah Jessica Parker fresh complexion

Sarah Jessica Parker secret: Before applying foundation, she applies a base (green to cover up red blotches and apricot for a healthy glow).

Expert's advice: Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone (go for one with a lot of coverage if your skin is oily, liquid foundation if it's dry, and a compact for combination skin). If, like SJP, you're blonde with fair skin, sweep a little pink blusher over the top of your cheekbones, up towards your temples, to get a beautiful glow.
Volume in Sarah Jessica Parker hair

Sarah Jessica Parker secret: She shapes her curls with styling products. She wears her curls tight for a sophisticated look, natural for a girl-about-town look, and wide and tumbling for a casual look.

Expert's advice: Wring your hair dry then apply volumising mousse, spray or serum. Use your fingers to shape your curls and fix them in place with a hairband. After a few minutes, release your hair from the band and finish by drying with your head tipped forward.

Result: perfectly shaped curls.

Sarah Jessica Parker in dress fury

Sarah Jessica Parker is disappointed with Nina Ricci after another celebrity wore her New York Premiere dress first.
We’ve all been there before - you buy a dress but on arrival to the big party, you realise you’re not the only one wearing it.
It seems this doesn’t only happen to us – SJP had the same problem recently when she stepped out at the premiere of Sex And The City.
Her `exclusive` dress was worn a few weeks previous by socialite Lauren Santo Domingo, who was escorted down the red carpet by the Nina Ricci designer, Olivier Theyskens.

Sarah told the New York Times ‘In the big picture, this is not important…. but what they did was so short-sighted. It’s just disappointing.’

To add insult to injury, Lindsay Lohan was also snapped in the dress last year for a shoot in Harper’s Bazaar.

It looks like future Nina Ricci creations will be banned from any of the SATC girls’ wardrobes.
