Sofia Vergara does fashion Line for Kmart

The Modern Family star Sofia Vergara  is collaborating with Kmart to make her first stylish line— a range of jewelry, clothes, shoes and handbags that channels her signature sexy look.

For Vergara, doing the line was a no-brainer.

“This is kind of natural for me,” she tells WWD. “I have always been interested in clothes and makeup and beauty. I always dressed up. I wasn’t laid-back about it. I’m not lounging around in sweat clothes and flip-flops. Maybe a nice pair of sweats.”

From miniskirts and jeggings to leopard bustiers and tight dresses, the Sophia Vergara for Kmart Collection will make its debut in stores fall 2011.

Cheryl Cole fashion line for Kitson

British singer Cheryl Cole's wants to add fashion designer point to her rezume list.

The X Factor star, 27, talk with US store Kitson to design a range of clothes and shoes. Los Angeles based fashion store Kitson is described as ‘a mix of Topshop and Marc Jacobs,'

‘This will be huge for Cheryl. Obviously she's already a big star in the UK but she's not a household name in America. This will change everything,' one source told the Daily Star.

‘Cheryl could easily follow in the fashion footsteps of Victoria Beckham. She has already had meetings with the brand's executives who are very impressed.'

Kitson is one of the most popular shops in L.A. and is a favourite among celebrities. It's one of the coolest boutiques, so for Cheryl to be offered her own range with her name at the helm is fantastic news. The creators want to use her song title Fight For This Love as the name for the range and are hoping she can design dresses and shoes as well as handbags. They are also wanting her to model the collection herself.
Want to see what they design! Go Cheryl, Go!

Lindsay Lohan charged of Copying Designs for Her 6126 Line

Looks like Lindsay Lohan’s hope for a drama-free 2010 is already over. Merely a week after plans to expand her leggings line 6126 into a full fashion line hit the internet — complete with sketches — Lindsay has been accused of copying designs by two separate designers, reports WWD.

First, James Lillis, designer of Black Milk Clothing, took to his blog, toomanytights.typepad.com, to point out the similarities between Lindsay’s “Diamond” leggings and his own “Sheer Spartan” leggings — both of which boast a signature triangle cutout at mid-thigh.

Next,Fashionista.com labeled Lindsay’s geometric dress as a dead ringer for a Jen Kao dress the star wore only last month — to which designer Jen Kao responded to WWD, saying,

“While we are all well aware that being ‘mimicked’ or ‘copied’ has always existed in this industry, I think the evolution of it all has grown to an alarming level. It’s a shame to support the concept of taking advantage of designers who are still trying to develop a name and solidify the image of their design aesthetic.”

While Lindsay has yet to respond to the accusations against her, Kristi Kaylor, president of 6126, defended Lindsay and the integrity of her designs to WWD, saying,

“The alleged ‘copying’ claims made by these companies are false and have absolutely no merit or validity whatsoever. Any alleged similarities are purely coincidental.

The 6126 illustrations for the upcoming fall 2010 collections do not even describe the fabric content, fit or actual construction details of the garments. This is merely an accusation based upon a pencil sketch with no concrete viable evidence to back up the allegations.”

Heidi Klum- Two Maternity Lines

When Heidi Klum announced she was launching a "pervasive lifestyle collection," we figured it would tie into Project Runway, the seventh season of which premieres on Lifetime next week.

A little challenge for the contestants to try to create a piece for one of her maternity lines could be perfectly timed for next month's launch. Yes, she has two maternity lines coming out February 12: one for Motherhood

Maternity called "Loved," and one for A Pea in the Pod called "Lavish." But wait — isn't "Lavish" a rather recession-unfriendly name?

Klum, who has been pregnant four times, says she chose it "because there is no grander name to express everything you want to give yourself and the child growing within you."

And there is no grander maternity-belly scarf than whatever she has going on in this picture. That is surely the solution for uncomfortable pregnant women. Wrap up in a giant sheet and you're good to go.

Victoria Beckham To Unveil Dress Line

Victoria Beckham loved designing her denim line so much that she's decided to continue with evening wear. She'll be unveiling a new line of dresses at New York Fashion Week, or as she likes to call them, Posh Frocks!

She says,
It will be something completely different from what I've ever done. I'm just putting it together at the moment, but they will be very upscale dresses and likely will start at around $1,200 retail. I'm going to be using very expensive fabrics and finishes, lots of embroideries.

Vicky has taken inspiration from Marc Jacobs and Roberto Cavalli, and is already in talks with major department stores to sell them. Word is she has been working closely with French designer Roland Mouret on the designs. We just hope the dresses come in more than just a size zero!

Naomi Campbell inspired Posh Spice to design jeans

Who better than a crazy spitting, cell phone throwing super model to inspire you to create fashion? Victoria Beckham has made a pair of jeans for her dVb line based off of Naomi Campbell's look.

Victoria said,

"High fashion plays a huge part in the creation of the dVb ranges and right now I love the influences of the Seventies and Eighties on the runway. The "Naomi by dVb" takes these elements into a denim cut which makes the leg look incredibly long. Who better to name this style after than Naomi Campbell?"

And of course, since these two are now British BFF's, Naomi had to comment too.

She stated,
"I love the fit, model and cut of the Naomi jeans Victoria Beckham has designed. I have already worn them many times and people always stop me and ask the make of my jeans. Victoria did a great job capturing a stylish Seventies rock jean look."

Did someone pay Naomi to say that? She couldn't sound more forced if she tried. And please, like people really stop her to ask her the make of her jeans. No woman would dare to just walk up to that ferosh bitch and ask her a mundane question.

Naomi would probably start shooting fireballs out of her eyes or turn a girl into stone with that crazy Medusa stare.

Victoria Beckham sues Rock & Republic

The woes of Victoria Beckham's dVb line continue with the news that she is suing Rock & Republic, the LA-based fashion label which once manufactured her denim range at £200 a pop.

The Spice Girl is claiming that she is owed as much as £50 million by Rock & Republic following their split in June 2007.

She parted ways with the fashion label after just two years, following rumours that her relationship with R & R designer/owner Michael Ball turned sour.

According to the Daily Mail, a High Court listing shows that Beckham Brand Ltd, a company set up by Victoria and David, has filed a legal claim against Rock & Republic last month for a compensation payout of earnings lost.

This is the latest knock for Victoria's dVb denim line which has been selling poorly in the U.S. and criticised by boutique owners, such as Fraser Ross of Kitson, for its disappointing performance.

Ross made headlines last month when he told the press that he was close to axing the range from his store due to Posh's lack of promotional work.

"We asked her PR people so many times for her to appear but she didn't. Celebrity lines are no different from an album or music tour. They have to be promoted to sell," he told People magazine.

Despite later retracting his comments, it is believed that if sales do not improve, Beckham's dVb denimwear line is likely to be dropped by many stores next season.
